Eureka College Integrates a Fleet of Epson WorkForce Enterprise and WorkForce Pro Business Multifunction Printers as a Component of Its Sustainability Initiative
LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. – Aug. 28, 2024 – Epson today announced Eureka College has selected Epson business printing solutions to replace its existing fleet of laser printers throughout the campus. After a thorough search for a printing solution with particular environmental advantages, Eureka College concluded that Epson’s printers not only met but surpassed its requirements.

“As part of our curriculum, students in the Environmental Science and Business programs were assigned to assess the environmental benefits of the potential printer solutions. The objective was to ascertain whether the claims made were merely marketing assertions or if the products genuinely aligned with our sustainability goals,” stated Dr. Ann Fulop, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Eureka College. “The students examined brand and product messaging, evaluated qualified environmental claims—including estimates of electricity savings—and developed accounting projections based on the potential environmental impacts and savings, taking into account the school’s printing habits and requirements.”
Eureka College has implemented a fleet of WorkForce® Enterprise AM-C5000 Color Multifunction Printers (MFPs) and WorkForce Pro WF-C579R Workgroup Color MFPs featuring Replaceable Ink Pack Systems. The AM-C5000 boasts the lowest power consumption in its category, consuming up to 55% less energy than color laser printers. Meanwhile, the WF-C579R utilizes a Replaceable Ink Pack System with high-capacity packs that can produce up to 50,000 ISO pages in black and 20,000 ISO pages in color before needing a replacement.
