LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. – Sept. 4, 2024 – In response to the growing demand from financial institutions for enhanced banking options for business customers, Epson has unveiled new desktop check scanners that support Remote Deposit Capture (RDC). Building on the success of the widely used TM-S1000 check scanner, the new S1000II and S1000II-NW models provide next-generation convenience tailored to banking needs, facilitating both RDC and back-office capture solutions. With a range of connectivity options and rapid scanning capabilities housed in a robust industrial design, these new models are an excellent choice for financial institutions aiming to improve the check processing experience for their clients.

“Remote Deposit Capture is extensively utilized by small, medium, and large enterprises, allowing financial institutions to enable their clients to scan checks on-site and instantly send the electronic copies, which enhances convenience and provides quicker access to funds,” stated Rahn Rampton, product manager at Epson America, Inc. “Leveraging a proven track record, these new desktop check scanners introduce enhanced features and future-proofing capabilities, including driverless Web API, as well as Ethernet, USB, and optional WiFi connectivity.”

The S1000II-NW is a driverless scanner equipped with Ethernet, USB, and optional Wi-Fi® connectivity, designed for future-proofing, while the S1000II provides straightforward USB connectivity. Both models are available in configurations that process 30 or 60 checks per minute, quickly capturing high-quality images at resolutions of up to 200 dpi.

The S1000II and S1000II-NW scanners boast an impressive MICR accuracy rate of 99.9%, ensuring reliable capture of checks. They feature two exit pockets that allow for the segregation of error checks from the main batch, thereby minimizing mistakes and enhancing scanning accuracy. Continuing the legacy of their predecessors, these new models come equipped with built-in franking and electronic endorsement capabilities, further centralizing and simplifying the processing workflow. Their durable industrial design optimizes efficiency while occupying minimal space, making them ideal for various banking environments.
